In Memory

Colin Pay

Dave Karon and Howard Buttery have sent me that sad news of the death of Colin Pay.   Howard also sent me the following tribute to Colin:

I was trying to inform our members that Colin Pay passed away this morning (January 5, 2017) at a hospital in Leeds in the U.K. earlier today. He was admitted on Christmas Day where the doctors suspected the cause was a bacterial infection but none could be found. He lapsed into a coma a few days later and died today. He and his wife Carol were visiting their younger daughter and family who live in the UK .
A highly respected maths teacher at DHS who will be sadly missed.

I remember Colin with great fondness.  Although we were not close, we was always friendly and welcoming, and someone who could be relied on to do the right thing.

I did not know Colin in his teaching days at DHS, and it was a joy to see him after what was probably almost 50 years at the Class of 1963 50th reunion.  He was as warm and friendly as he was when I knew him at DHS.

Rest in peace Colin.  You have fought the good fight!
